Getting Started

Setting up ThinkMode+ takes less than a minute. Follow these steps to start getting better AI responses automatically:

Install the Extension

Visit the Chrome Web Store and search for ThinkMode+, or use the install link on our homepage. Click "Add to Chrome" (or "Add to Edge" if you're using Microsoft Edge) and confirm the installation.

Pin the Extension

Click the puzzle-piece icon (Extensions) in your browser toolbar, find ThinkMode+, and click the pin icon next to it. This keeps ThinkMode+ visible in your toolbar for quick access to settings.

Configure Your Preferences

Click the ThinkMode+ icon in your toolbar to open the popup. From here you can toggle which platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) should have extended thinking enabled automatically. That's it — you're done!

Once configured, ThinkMode+ works silently in the background. Every time you open a supported AI platform, extended thinking will already be turned on.

Troubleshooting

If ThinkMode+ doesn't seem to be working as expected, try the following steps:

🔄 Refresh the Page

The simplest fix is often the most effective. Hard-refresh the AI platform page with Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows/Linux) or Cmd + Shift + R (Mac). ThinkMode+ activates on page load, so a refresh gives it a clean start.

🌐 Check You're on a Supported Platform

ThinkMode+ currently works on these domains:

  • chatgpt.com — OpenAI's ChatGPT
  • claude.ai — Anthropic's Claude
  • gemini.google.com — Google's Gemini

If you're using a different URL (e.g., an API playground or enterprise instance), the extension may not activate.

🧩 Verify the Extension Is Enabled

Open chrome://extensions in your browser's address bar and make sure ThinkMode+ is toggled on. If it was recently updated, you may need to click the refresh/reload button on the extension card.

⚠️ Check for Conflicts

Other browser extensions that modify AI platform interfaces may conflict with ThinkMode+. Try temporarily disabling other extensions to see if the issue resolves.

🔄 Reinstall the Extension

If nothing else works, remove ThinkMode+ from chrome://extensions and reinstall it from the Chrome Web Store. This ensures you have the latest version with a clean state.
