Support & Help Center

Everything you need to get started and troubleshoot TimeSkip.

Getting Started

Follow these three steps to start time-traveling through X profiles:

📥 Step 1: Install

Add TimeSkip to your browser from the Chrome Web Store. It works on both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. The installation takes less than 5 seconds.

👤 Step 2: Visit a Profile

Navigate to any X (Twitter) profile page. The TimeSkip widget will automatically appear below their bio, just above the Posts / Replies / Media tabs.

🕐 Step 3: Jump!

Select a month and year from the dropdowns, then click "Go." TimeSkip will instantly take you to that user's posts from your selected time period.

Features Overview

📅 Jump to Date

Select any month and year to see a user's posts from that exact time period. The extension builds an X Advanced Search query and navigates you directly to the results. Works for any public profile.

⚡ Quick Jumps

One-click buttons for "1 year ago" and "2 years ago" are built into the widget. Perfect for a quick look at what someone was posting during a specific period without fiddling with dropdowns.

🏁 First Posts Finder

The "First posts" button uses a self-driving search algorithm that progressively narrows the date window, auto-scrolls the results, and highlights the user's oldest tweet with a glowing badge.

🔌 Extension Popup

Click the TimeSkip icon in your browser toolbar for quick access. The popup automatically detects if you're on an X profile or search page, and lets you jump to dates or navigate to the user's profile.

Troubleshooting

🔄 Widget Not Showing?

  1. Refresh the profile page (Ctrl + R or Cmd + R)
  2. Make sure you're on an X.com profile page (not the homepage or search)
  3. Check that the extension is enabled in chrome://extensions
  4. Try navigating away from the profile and then back to it

❌ No Results Found?

  1. Try a wider date range — the user may not have posted in that exact month
  2. Check if the user's account is private (protected accounts don't appear in search)
  3. Some very old tweets may not be indexed by X's search engine

🆕 First Post Inaccurate?

If the account was created within the last 6 months, X's search index may not have catalogued all their tweets yet. TimeSkip will show a warning banner in this case. For accounts older than 6 months, the First Post finder is highly accurate.

⚠️ Extension Conflicts?

If you have other Twitter/X extensions installed, they may interfere with TimeSkip's widget injection. Try temporarily disabling other X-related extensions to see if the issue resolves.

🔧 Still Broken?

  1. Uninstall TimeSkip from chrome://extensions
  2. Restart your browser
  3. Reinstall from the Chrome Web Store
  4. If the issue persists, contact us with details
